gyab-570x302Despite numerous efforts of critics and opponents of renewable energy to undermine the importance of solar and wind, and to stimulate burning of fossil fuels as an energy source, they cannot keep up with current technological advances and sustainable development policies.

Various green energy projects demonstrate that the key to ‘cleaner’ future is to create adequate grid infrastructure and energy polices. If renewable energy is properly integrated, a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and securing of power supplies will become even more evident.

Renewable sources bring opportunities for future generations and create jobs, while benefiting and protecting the surrounding environment.

Germany is one of the countries that stimulate the transition to renewable energy the most. For decades, governmental officials and members of the private sector have worked together to create diverse environment and conditions, which made Germany’s economy very dynamic, robust and resilient.

Current policies in Germany are leading the economy towards elimination of nuclear power use and construction of solar and wind power replacements. The demand for electricity generated from non-renewable power sources has dropped significantly, resulting in a record-low number of energy delivery contracts in Germany and France, as reported by Bloomberg.

As stated by Per Lekander, an analyst at UBS’s Paris office, solar panels, not connected to the grid, could meet as much as 18% of electricity demands, which will bring down the need for electricity from other sources by up to 10% by year 2020.

The power prices are also expected to drop significantly, while the overall electricity generation capacity will increase with almost 1,000 MW.
