It’s no secret that Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk had some secret meetings with Apple acquisitions people, but there’s been little news as to what actually came out of those meetings.

There has, however, been plenty of speculation that Apple might buy the successful startup electric vehicle maker, Tesla Motors. Of course, if any company was to buy Tesla Motors, it would have to be a tech company. Conventional automakers, some believe, just don’t have what it takes to run an electric vehicle company. On the other hand, no one said Tesla Motors was for sale, anyway.

In a recent BloombergTV interview, Tesla Motors founder and CEO Elon Musk said, referring to his talks with Apple executives, “I think that’s very unlikely, because we need to stay super-focused on achieving a compelling mass-market electric car, I’d be very concerned… that we’d be distracted from that task.” Click forward to the 6:14 mark for the conversation about Tesla Motors meeting with Apple, and Elon Musk’s feelings on it…

Clearly, Elon Musk has big plans for Tesla Motors, and future merger or sale could be a possible future. At the moment, however, he’s more focused on other things for the company. Personally, I wish we could see more news on the Giga-Factory and the Tesla Model E, but all things in their time. So far, Elon Musk’s strategy is working out, so we can’t fault him for where he’s going with Tesla Motors and how long it’s taking.
