This is also why when I heard about Peddler’s Creamery, a place where two of my greatest passions- biking and ice-cream, are combined, I could not resist to spread the joy.

The magical place is located right at the heart of historic downtown Los Angeles, and offers the healthiest ice-cream you could ever get. The treat is made of local organic ingredients, and comes in numerous varieties to satisfy all tastes and diets. What makes it even more special is that every batch of the dessert is bicycle-churned, and everyone has the opportunity to produce their own free scoop in exchange for their power.

Because this last part is particularly tempting, here are the details. You first need to sign up to become a member of the Peddler’s Club, and then you will have to reserve a spot in advance. You also have to be quite fit to maintain 15 mhp for a period of 15 and 20 mins, which is the time and power required to produce a batch of ice cream. Once you manage to complete this task, you get your free scoop, and actually you do not necessarily have to be the sole pedlar in the time slot, but only the registered member gets the reward.

There are quite a few other rewards if you can last longer on the bike, including t-shirts, jerseys, your picture can be placed on the wall, but most importantly- you can get a lot more ice-cream. Unfortunately, you are allowed to pedal only once a week. By the way, before you ask, this is the way the employees, who seem to be quite a fit bunch, make all the ice cream that comes out of the Creamery.

Although at the moment there is only one place, where Peddler’s ice cream can be made and bought, the owners promise that soon they will be supplying local stores and probably also having their own ice-cream trucks running around town. For now, they only sell in the shop and provide catering services.
