Emily Cummins, a 23-year old girl from the UK, has been named an Oslo Business for Peace Honouree for inventing a solar powered refrigerator - basically a device that uses water evaporation to extract heat (just like your skin gets colder when your sweat evaporates off).

We have been talking a while ago about refrigerators that needed no electricity or that were powered by the Sun, through evaporation, helping poor countries with a cool place to keep their food. Now, venture capitalist Adam Grosser teamed up with some Stanford scientists to create refrigerator that really doesn't need to be plugged in anything but the Sun.

It seems like Einstein did his best not only in quantum physics, but also in classic, immediately-helpful science. Back in the 1930's, helped by his friend Leo Szilard, he invented a refrigerator that used no electricity at all. Scientists from Oxford are struggling to revive his invention today.
