The earthquake that hit Japan recently has got every state with nuclear waste thinking: what if the leak should happen to us? What then? So the United States are currently reviewing their nuclear waste policy in search of a better way to store residues. Otherwise, the current facilities are a somewhat easy target for natural disasters and terrorist attacks.

MIT Study Says Nuclear Fuel Is Enough For Decades, Still Companies Head to Natural Gas

New types of nuclear fission reactors could consume their uranium much more efficiently, says a study from the MIT, called "The Future of the Nuclear Fuel Cycle". Charles Forsberg, one of the study's co-authors, says that their work tries to make it easier for the United States to enhance their nuclear power usage by three times, and produce more than 1 GW of electricity.
