Nissan Sold More Leaves Than Chevrolet Sold Volts in First Half of 2011

Although I don't quite see how one can truly compare any gasoline or hybrid car with a pure electric one in terms of market and customer targeting, it looks like the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt have something in common. Nissan's recent sales reports nevertheless say that the Leaf has outperformed the Volt in the first half of 2011.

Tesla Motors Orders 100 More Roadster Gliders From Lotus, Extends Production

You may remember that about a week ago or so I've been writing an article about how Tesla Motors will end its Roadster production soon - in as little as a few months - and will concentrate more on building the company's future models. It looks like they won't stop production so soon, after all. GigaOM says that Musk has ordered another 100 gliders from Lotus for another 100 Roadsters.

Tesla Roadster was for many the car that brought back the electric car dream that set with the crushing of GM's EV1 back in 2003. Now, the production of Roadsters is seemingly coming to an end, as Tesla Motors announced they'll be focusing more on the future Model S sedan and Model X crossover they've been bragging with for the past few months.

Lack of Spare Tire an Issue With Existing and Future Electric Cars

I never though about it, but it seems (and it makes sense to be so) that current electric and plug-in hybrid cars don't feature a spare tire anymore. Every other car on the road has it, and only I can tell a few instances when I was literally saved by the spare tire in my trunk, although it's that small model.
