New Chinese Technology To Reuse Irradiated Nuclear Fuel

According to China Central Television, Chinese scientists have made a discovery in nuclear fuel reprocessing technology stating that the uranium supplies might end soon. China's proven uranium sources will last for only half a century or so, but the technology produced by China National Nuclear Corp gives the country the opportunity to re-use the irradiated nuclear fuel.

China is planning to reduce its carbon footprint by 40-45% from the 2005 level and until 2020 to generate 15% of its electricity from low-carbon technologies. According to Zhang Guobao, head of the National Energy Administration, a national program consisting of billions of dollars of investments in solar, wind and nuclear energy would be launched very soon.
