Companies must abide by Environmental Management Systems, or frameworks for sustainable business. These EMSs analyze the environmental impact of a company’s processes, sets emission goals, outlines ways to reduce pollution, and measures achievement of these goals.
Regulated pollution means that our air, water and soil stay as healthy as possible. This is paramount for farmers and ranchers who depend on our natural resources to help food and animals thrive. Good soil quality, fresh water, and healthy air all ensure crops don’t spoil and diseases are kept at bay.
Without water, agricultural crops simply can’t survive. To prevent or reduce the effects of long-term drought, conservationists work with policymakers and local governments to make and enforce water conservation rules. These rules trickle down to city residents with lawn watering regulations and tips on how to reduce daily water consumption. The result is more water for local crops so food doesn’t become scarce, too.
