The availability of clean drinking water in many areas around the world is limited. Engineers and scientists are continuously searching for solutions to this pressing problem, developing technologies and gadgets that can purify water in a matter of hours.
The guys from Water One World, however, have come up with something much better. Their creation, the Solar Wagon, not only purifies water on its own, but it can also deliver it, using energy only from the sun.
The mobile water purification Solar Wagon, is equipped with solar panels, a battery storage, as well as a filtration and purification system. Using only solar energy , the technology can supply as much as 4320 gallons of clean drinking water per day, thanks to the absolute-micron filtration and capacity meter. UV light removes 99.99% of bacteria and 99.7% of the viruses, according to the makers.
The system can use water from various sources, not only natural, such as rivers and lakes, but also wells, cisterns or tanks. The purification process takes minutes, and within one year, Water One estimated that it can produce nearly 145,000 gallons of drinking water.
The bad news is, the price of one Solar Wagon is $12,000. It is quite an expensive technology for communities that can hardly afford food, but surely there are plenty of charities and NGOs that can sponsor such life-saving apparatus.
The company offers a number of alternative gadgets. For example, there is a version of the Solar Wagon, which has a power generator instead of solar panels. It has a self-contained trailer and can produce as much as 20,000 gallons of clean water per day. The company claims that such technology is particularly useful in a post-disaster situations.
