bioreactor 300x199 Generating Biofuel With Bioreactor Made of Recycled BottlesWhy waste your money on fossil fuel when you can make your own biofuel reactor? Michael Fisher has developed a bioreactor which uses algae to produce oil. What is very interesting about his invention is the bioreactor itself, which is made out of recycled bottles.

In a previous post on Green Optimistic we already debated the idea of producing biofuel from algae or seaweed so this process is not a new thing. But the difference is that you can produce your own biofuel in the back of your garden using a minimum of investment.

The photo-bioreactor uses algae to convert carbon dioxide and sunlight into energy. This energy is produced in the form of algae biomass. The biomass is extracted and used to develop carbon neutral biofuel. Please watch the instructable video below to find out the details of how the reactor is made and how it can produce biofuel.
