If our loyal readers remember, we recently posted an article about Ford’s map of the best US cities to drive an electric vehicle in. Boston residents will probably remember their city as being one of them. Now Ford is not giving up on the task and is putting in practice the plans for the infrastructure: until 2012, the company wants to have Boston’s streets nice and ready for its Ford Focus Electric.
Michael Quirk, general manager of Quirk Ford is confident the 2012 Ford Electric will fit right in; but this year’s model is also a “money saver and a perfect companion.”
He doesn’t just say that: next year’s base model of Ford Focus has a consumption of 27 mpg on city streets and 37 mpg on the highway. The other aspects that make driving a pleasure are not being neglected: it looks good, i’s easy to maneuver and has a SYNC entertainment and communications technology. Everything you could ever want out of a car!
For those who dare to want more fuel savings, they can choose the 2012 Focus’ Super Fuel Efficiency (SFE) package that ensures 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.
With a tank capacity of 12.4 gallons, this version is set to drive up to 500 miles without stopping for a fill. The car also wins points with its direct injection 2-liter engine, a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission option. All you have to do is hop on the 160 horsepower and drive as far your eyes take you.
Strong fuel features are matched with pleasant aesthetic details, a combination hard to find in other cars: the noticeable car interior includes two-tone leather seats, a navigation system and a moon roof.
The car scores some more points with the Parking Technology Package: a rear-view camera and ultrasonic sensors to make the car park faster than others. However, nothing will make customers happier than fuel savings, so even if you don’t like the interior, you can always enjoy the money left in your pocket!
