Abu Dhabi To Build Two Green Towers Inspired By Nature and Islamic Architecture
A "design generated from a mathematically pre-rationalized form that derives from Islamic design principles" is about to be brought to life by Aedas, the world's fifth largest architecture company. The Abu Dhabi Investment Council Headquarters will be built in collaboration with engineering firm Arup, and the deadline is 2012.

Ten years ago, a report based on measurements taken at a hydroelectric plant in Brasil said that the gas (CO2 and methane) emissions of hydroelectric power (HEP) reservoirs account for 1 to 28% of the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by man. The report said that the CO2 and the methane came from the rotting organisms contained in the HEP reservoirs.

Barack Obama Refuses New Solar Panels On The White House
U.S. president Barack Obama has recently refused a proposal to reinstall solar panels on the White House rooftops. The proposal came from Bill McKibben, the founder of a group of environmental activists, who went to Obama in a biodiesel-powered van. Ex-president Jimmy Carter had installed the proposed solar panels on the White House back in 1979. They used to provide heat and were a logo of America's will to free itself from foreign oil.
