Daimler Planning To Unveil New "Smart eScooter" At The 2010 Paris Auto Show

Daimler, one of the world’s largest car manufacturers is planning to unveil the new” Smart eScooter” at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. Having zero carbon dioxide emissions, the battery-powered eScooter is able to reach a top speed of 28 mph and also has an all-electric range of more than 60 miles.

Being designed for one or two persons, the scooter has integrated advanced safety and telecom technology. Moreover, it is equipped with an airbag that is placed into the paneling beneath the handlebars, antilock brakes and blind-spot assist. Another great feature is the integration, via a Smart drive kit app, of smartphones into the eScooter.

The eScooter’s 4kW electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged from a standard outlet in 3-5 hours. There is also an ample storage for two helmets because the battery charger is located into the front paneling.
