As far as I know from 7th grade, hydrogen is the only chemical element that has only one electron spinning around the nucleus. It seems, though things are going to change here, since a medical doctor from New Jersey has discovered a different reality on it. The company Randell Mills founded is called Blacklight Power, and it has been written all over the internet about it a few months ago, when they firstly announced their “free energy” device discovery.
Well, unlike most of the physicists say, Randell claims that he perfected a process able to get the hydrogen atom to enter a lower energy state than it naturally has. That means the electron can go to a lower orbit. This transition generates energy, that Randell captured. The new atom is called “hydrino”, and the process of making it is creating about 50% excess energy. This fact has been proven by independent scientists recently.
They even got a prototype 50 kilowatt reactor on-line back in May 2008. An engineering team from the Rowan University in NJ tested the Blacklight invention with the help of a calorimeter, measuring the heat in a sealed chamber. Blacklight is providing the Rowan researchers with a common industrial form of nickel called Raney nickel, doped with sodium hydroxide, which is then put through a reaction with water to produce energy. “We’ve been able to regularly reproduce these results and we believe any research lab could do the same,” Peter Jansson, the faculty member heading the experiments, told venturebeat.com.

All scientific community has been reluctant about Mills’ invention. Though, important private investors are already convinced by the facts demonstrated by Blacklight and are willing to support them:$60 million in funding, including about $10 million from electric utilities Conectiv and PacifiCorp, as well as amounts from unnamed hedge funds and members of its all-star board of directors, including Shelby Brewer, a Reagan-era US assistant secretary of nuclear energy, and Michael Jordan, CEO of Electronic Data Systems.

I have been watching this for several years and no product has ever been sold. They were going to have a unit on the market two years ago and so far nothing. Sounds good on paper and keeps them in money.
