We all know that the Toyota Prius is certainly the best-selling hybrid so far. After Toyota, the next giant carmaker, Honda, launched the Insight but could not beat the Prius in sales.

With emission regulations getting tougher, Toyota is looking for ways to build “greener cars”. Thus he company has decided to launch a new fuel cell vehicle in Europe by 2015. Toyota claims that the new car will have implemented an advanced fuel cell technology.

It is not the first carmaker to manufacture a hydrogen-powered car. Other major car companies like Honda with its FCX Clarity in 2008, have created fuel cell prototypes.

Toyota expects to sell the new zero-emissions hydrogen car in the European market over a period of four years.

“We could expect a fuel cell vehicle to retail at about €100,000 [US$138,000] in Europe,” Toyota Europe Vice President for Product Planning & Marketing, Alain Uyttenhoven, told Automotive News.
