Message for America: Have a Green Independence Day!
Over the years, America's economical supremacy has led the world's trends from zero to where we are now. Today, America celebrates the Independence Day. Independence itself is the greatest concept of them all, it's the feeling of freedom and the fiesta of life.
Anaconda Bulge Wave Power: Incredible Rubber-based Power Device
Francis Farley, an experimental physicist (I like them much more than the theoreticias), has invented the "Anaconda" wave powered device. It can mainly be described as a large distensible tube, made out of rubber, closed at both ends and filled with water. The Anaconda tube is designed to be anchored just below the sea's surface, with one of its ends facing the oncoming waves.
Solar Ark from Sanyo: Where to Take Your Kids this Summer
Sanyo has opened a inverted ark shaped facility covered all over with solar panels. In the 315m wide and 37m tall facility there's a Solar Lab built - it's a museum of solar energy with hands-on exhibits and unique outdoor light shows.
New Diesel DeNOx Catalyst to Reduce Emissions by 95%
A new catalyst has been developed by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory. It can reduce the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions diesel engines from 90%-95%. Integrated Fuel Technologies, Inc. (IFT), a Washington State start-up company with offices in Spokane and Kirkland, has been licensed to produce it.
An Interesting Approach to a Wave Powered Electricity Generator
I received a message today from a reader suggesting a particular website. I read the information on that particular website, and there was presented a hybrid energy producing system by using the waves as a "catalyst" for the operation of a diesel-powered generator.
Germany Storing CO2 Underground
Germany has an ongoing plan to store their CO2 emissions underground. They used a special drill during tests earlier this year for the carbon capture project in Ketzin. The GFZ geoscience institute says that Germany will inaugurate Europe's first underground carbon dioxide storage site.
Revetec Controlled Combustion Engine: 50% less fuel, 100% power
A better combustion engine is the one recently patented by Revetec, a small company from Australia. Their engine has been tested by independent parties. It has the same power as an ordinary engine, but it consumes half the fuel and it weights 50% less. It's also smaller than the average car engine.
Louisiana Enacts the Most Comprehensive Advanced Biofuel Legislation in the Nation
Baton Rouge, LA (June 27, 2008) â€Ã¢â‚¬Å“ Governor Bobby Jindal has signed into law the Advanced Biofuel Industry Development Initiative, the most comprehensive and far-reaching state legislation in the nation enacted to develop a statewide advanced biofuel industry.
Biofuels are Bad for Poor Countries – they Cause Starvation on Long Term
The aid agency Oxfam said Wednesday that the all-beloved biofuels are to be blamed for 30% of the increase in food prices worldwide, pushing 30 million people around the globe into poverty.
Pratt & Whitney`s Geared Jet Engine Turbo-Fan to Burn 15% Less Fuel
One of the biggest names in aviation, Pratt & Whitney, spent almost twenty years developing the geared turbofan engine that burns 12 to 15% less fuel than other jet engines. The new turbofan engine also cuts carbon dioxide emissions by 1,500 tons/plane yearly.
