A little test: if you think the car in the image above looks sexy to you, don’t go to a mental institution – you should apply for a job at Tesla Motors.

Engineering a car that runs on nothing but electrons is a dream to millions of grad students worldwide. Elon Musk has tweeted that Tesla Motors is looking for engineers to do “ultra hardcore vehicle engineering” for their next innovative electric cars.

If you look over to Tesla’s own website, 66 new engineering jobs are open right now. Some of them are for positions like “Motor Control Firmware Engineer” or “Dimensional Analysis Engineer,” to name a few that sound like “hardcore.”

So, if you graduated from a profile university, want to work for people who create the technology that’ll be in use 100 years from now, go ahead and apply! All of the jobs are based on Palo Alto and Fremont, but a sentence at the footer says “We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote without regard to race, color, age, sex, ancestry, marital status, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, present or past history of mental disability, genetic information or any other classification protected by state or federal law.”

That being said, I guess they’ll hire you even if you’ve been rejected by others but you’re nevertheless one of the best in the fields they’re looking for.
