Tesla Roadster Sport: The Fastest Road Runner Available from June

Like the 3.9 seconds 0-60 acceleration wasn’t enough, Tesla has unveiled on Sunday the faster “Tesla Roadster Sport” at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The new, zippier Roadster Sport is 0.2 seconds faster than its older sibling, and it’s fully worth the “Sport” tag addition, like the old Roadster wasn’t sporty enough. Actually, you’re going to pay $19 more for it. Tesla already takes orders for the new car that will hit the market at the end of June 2009.

Ok, let’s leave the jokes behind: I guess the new Roadster Sport deserves its name because it has a new and upgraded powertrain, that will be the same with the one they’ll use in Model S, the upcoming four door electric luxury sedan Tesla will make beginning with 2011.

It seems like Tesla is releasing upgrades and new versions of their car faster than Microsoft is doing with their service packs and Windowses. Let’s hope good things will come out of it.
