A new electric vehicle debuted on Thursday at the Geneva Motor Show, the Volkswagen E-Up!, that isn’t going to be sold outside of Europe.

The new Volkswagen E-Up! will start sales in the EU early next year, and hopes are high for the little electric vehicle. It isn’t a sporty car by any means, seating four passengers and generating just 53hp, peaking at 80hp.

Power though, isn’t the main idea here, and the new car only accelerates 0-60mph is something like 14 seconds. On the other hand, it will have a range of 93 miles per charge and has charge times comparable with most other LIII systems.

Interestingly, it will have the capability to charge on both AC and DC charging systems.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing the Volkswagen E-Up! in showrooms here in the US. We’ll have to wait for the Volkswagen electric Golf [E-Golf! or Golf EV?] in 2015. We’ll find out more about the electric Golf at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
