Recently, we have seen the first sketch of Automobili Pininfarina’s PF0. It is an electric supercar with over 1,000 horsepower and is developed by a luxury design house. Last month, we learned that Pininfarina will reveal their car at Monterey Car Week. As the date of the event approaches, more information becomes available regarding the ultra-luxurious supercar.
First of all, not everybody will have an opportunity to see the first real-life prototype: the entrance will be limited to a small group of prospective electric supercar buyers only. Additionally, the company released teasers of the car’s interior and few additional details.
“Our presence in Monterey is an inspiring chapter in the story of realizing Battista Farina’s long-held dream: One day there will be beautiful cars solely branded Pininfarina,” said Automobili Pininfarina CEO Michael Perschke in a statement.
Their idea is to provide an opportunity to be part of the birth of the company and their supercars to future PF0 owners that already have a good taste in cars and own numerous modern and historic classics.
The PF0 electric supercar’s production will be limited to a small number of 150 units. The official public reveal of the vehicle will happen at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The VIP preview in Monterey will be accompanied by a complete design brief by Pininfarina Design Director Luca Borgogno.
The interior sketches cannot provide us with every detail, but at least we are able to get a sense of the forward-looking and driver-focused design of the PF0 electric supercar. We see a heavy sports steering wheel with a digital speedometer and what appears to be a navigation display front and center, with the instrument panel flanked by digital screens with more information
By now, we know for sure, that the car’s body will be made of a carbon fiber and that the electric supercar will be exceedingly fast. According to the company’s information, it will be able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in less than 2 seconds. And the top speed will be over 250 miles per hour ( 402 km per hour). Aside from these fantastic numbers, it will still be able to drive for over than 300 miles (482.8 km).
