Veritas RSIII: Gas-Guzzling Roadster Turned Into Hybrid Beast

Vermot AG, the creator of the unique Veritas RSIII sports car, has recently declared that the its V10-powered retro ride will be equipped with a hybrid drive. The company also plans to launch a full electric version by the end of 2013 and a coupe version this summer.

Being propelled by a 105 kilowatt electric motor, the vehicle will be capable of producing about 600 hp. The electric motor and the lithium ion battery pack add approximately 500 pounds to the car, bringing the weight of the car to about 2,821 pounds.

According to Vermont AG, the hybrid is able to go from 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds, being with 1 seconds faster than its petrol-powered predecessor. The car can reach a top speed of 205 mph and has a range of 31 miles on electric power alone before the gas engine kicks in.
