revaIf you think electric – think Reva. Nice motto for a small electric car! But small doesn’t seem bad at all. Electric cars have started to evolve in all corners of the world. Regardless the designers’ origins they have one common point: to create a reliable zero emission car.

Reva Electric Car Company already succeeded in the green automotive industry, even though electric cars are not that popular in India. Western countries tried to evolve as much as they possibly could to green technologies but Indians seemed to be very conservative of old technologies. This rule did not apply to the Bangalore Manufacturer which already sold few Reva electric cars directly or through Reliance Digital, a consumer electronics mega store.

But Reva Electric Car Company will not stop here as they have further plans for this year. A new model will appear on the market at the middle of this year. The car will be powered by an advanced lithium ion battery which will render it an autonomy of 120km. The car will be ideal for the city and the new battery will allow consumers to recharge it in just one hour.

Reva Electric Car Company is working on its second plant in Bangalore which will have a capacity of around thirty thousand units per year. The Company is considering as well to export their vehicles in ten new overseas markets. Europe has already the Reva model in Spain and UK.

Who knows what will be their next step in technology? Small is not all the time unimportant, and the example is right in front of our eyes.

  1. Electric vehicles first came into existence in the mid-19th century, when electricity was among the preferred methods for motor vehicle propulsion, providing a level of comfort and ease of operation that could not be achieved by the gasoline cars of the time.. Nice sharing..
